Stephen Manoj Thompson Ph.D., is an award wining India-born American author and an IT professional; immigrated from India just before the millennium bug. Stephen came to public attention in 2008 for his much-acclaimed book titled, "Land of Opportunity Forever: energizing AMERICA", which was considered a true tribute to his new adopted homeland. The book higlights a perspective and understanding of the U.S from the 'outside-in'. Stephen is an IT executive (well recognized systems management professional) and dwells in the"Show-Me State". He has traveled the globe extensively and so his in-depth understanding about different cultures can be traced in his writings.

He had worked for various eminent organizations such as IBM, MasterCard, Enterprise, ABN Ambro, Saudi ARAMCO, Nahil Computer, HCL Hewlett-Packard and Patent Development Corporation of America. As an intrinsic strategist, he had coined or engineered several methodologies like, Competence-based Skills Management, Idyllic off-shore RPO and Domesticated Fleet Management concept.

Manoj (as known in India) was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, the son of Mr. Stephen Thompson Sr., retired engineer from Indian Space Research Organisation and Mrs. Rani Stephen, agriculture professional. Manoj lives in both St. Louis and Chennai.
