Veronica Leighton is the Founder and Chief Editor of VIA TIMES, a monthly publication with a circulation of 60,000 to 70,000 in the Chicago Land area's fastest growing ethnic groups (the Filipino/Asian American market). Via Times is considered to be one of the largest ethnic publications of its kind in the country with a more managed circulation program in key cities in the U.S., Canada and the Philippines. Veronica is a visionary and dynamic-minded person, founded VIA TIMES in August, 1984 which has now reached the unsurpassed stature as the chronicler of "Vital News, Vibrant Views" of Filipinos and other Asian Americans in Chicago land.

Veronica later founded 'Chicago Philippine Reports TV' in 1990 is the Filipino’s Choice for Television. It is currently being aired every Sunday, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM, on Channel 48, WFBT. VT/CPRTV tandem is one of a unique kind. It’s the first and only print/broadcast ethnic (Filipino) media in America that has survived for many years and is being efficiently run by a woman.

Veronica Leighton also serves as the Executive Producer of CPRTV.

Chicago Filipino American Hall of Fame

The Chicago Filipino American Hall of Fame is an inspiring project that highlights the best in the Filipino and Filipino-Americans -- a joint effort of the 20-year-old Chicago Philippine Reports TV and the 25-year-old VIA Times Newsmagazine -- an outstanding annual community event that benefits a locally produced (and original) television show in Chicago, the CPRTV. This event's other charitable recipients include the TAHANAN Philippine Museum, the Bantay Bata Foundation for homeless children of the Philippines, and the Pilipino American Social Service for Seniors.
